Are you by any chance...

playing this directly from a MIDI keyboard to your EWQL? Are you playing this live on your keyboard? If so it is very good. Cheers

ComposerSyterious responds:

I wish I was, although, I can make it sound a much better now with my knowledge on mixing. :P

Thank you for the review, and keep pursuing! - Hill

Ever thought of...

Using some more realistic orchestral samples with this? Might sound pretty epic... :D

KroweMusic responds:

Oh yeah most definitely. I just need to find better samples :D

Really?

I would have thought you had done more Dubstep before this, since your Dubstep is good.

KroweMusic responds:

I have made dubstep before this song, but it was mixed with other genres. This was the first "100%" dubstep song I've made (if that makes any sense :P).

Thanks for checking it out :)

If I ever have

and elevator in my house, I'd use something like this.

5 & 10 !

Rampant responds:

Well hey, thanks! If you get an elevator, just be glad I don't charge royalty fees yet :P

Danny Elfman woud be

proud that you've been inspired by him. I think you've captured his essence in this piece. It's simple, elegant, and has that dark feeling that is present in Tim Burton's movie. You're dead on in your style homage to Elfman.

Bravo!

:D

Rampant responds:

Wow! To say I've captured Elfman's style, that's a huge compliment!

Thanks for your review! :D

Reminiscent of Vangelis

This style is very similar to that of Vangelis. The use of synths in orchestral is a identifiable trademark of many of that composer's scores. I must say for your first foray into orchestral, you've done a very good job!

Way to go man!

:D

Xyresic responds:

Thanks a lot for all the support on chat, and I guess for convincing me to enter in the first place! Without your help, I never would have known I was capable of this kind of stuff. I really enjoyed making this, and I owe most of it....okay, ALL of it to you! Thanks for the review!

This brings to mind...

Forrest Gump. Really reminiscent of Alan Silvestri's work. But beautifully different. :D

MarkySpark responds:

Wow! Thanks man, Appreciate the review. Your work is great.

Excellent track, love the tempo!

i was really expecting a mechanized "eeeerrroooorrrr" at the end. :D

Spikrodd responds:

Well after the mechanized melancholy that carried throughout, I thought I would end it on a lighter note. :D

Thanks for the review, though!

o%u0442%u043B%u0438%u0447%u043D%u043E!

If I didn't know any better, I would think that this is a very old well-known Russian folk-song. Hmm I wonder what this would sound like as a guitar mandolin duet...
Excellent. I think this might actually get first place!

Darkmaster603 responds:

ha, That would be great! I got last place last time I entered, so it would be almost an underdog kind of thing lol. I actually think japan has a really good, almost 100%, chance of winning though. I wouldn't mind using some old Russian guitars, but the guitar is a pretty traditional Russian instrument so it's good enough for me. There are entries that I think did awesome, and will most likely get first place.

I think everyone did an amazing job though (I really liked your piece, very well done!) so we should all feel we accomplished something.

Medieval!

This would sound awesome in a medieval game or film. You're a favorite to win this contest IMO. Cheers!

popraz responds:

Honestly, I had my doubts about this song, don't know about winning the contest, but I'm honestly happy to see such a positive reaction. Thank you and good luck at the contest.
