I love it!

Man, this one will be hard to beat. I love the chill attitude that this song exudes. Just imagine, the kids are in school, the wife is at work, and you've got the whole afternoon to tinker away at the piano by yourself with no distractions. This is the feeling this song evokes.

Hey many thanks for the kind review broken!

Splash Splash Splash

This song reminds me of a flotilla of ships schooners maybe approaching a port. It's windy so the waves are splashing the shoreline.

SolusLunes responds:

Awesome imagery.

Very well done!

You know this sorta also reminds me of the scores Steve Jablonski did for the transformers movie series. Has a touch of Ncik Phoenix as well :P.

Breed responds:

Blast! You guys all caught me! I actually kidnapped Inon Zur, Hans Zimmer, Steve Jablonski, and Nick Pheonix, and put em in a big blender then drank them before making this piece.

But shhhh don't tell their wives.... Or the cops.

But seriously thanks, it means a lot coming from you. I spent a lot of time emulating techniques from my favorite composers: Hans Zimmer, Jason Hayes, Nick Pheonix, and James Horner.

Good combination

Good combo f metal and orchestral elements. It's hard to do without making it sound too much like Rhapsody. That tends to happen to me everytime I try metal/symphonic.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

Yeah, I like to think I have my own unique way of writing orchestral metal, and I hope to keep it that way. I don't like the idea of having my music constantly compared to stuff that already exists... I've had people comment on other stuff I've done saying I've invented a genre, I'd like to keep that up, even if creating a genre wasn't really my intention.

Thanks for the review!

Lead instrument not immediately clear.

Your current mix makes it seems that your piano is your lead instrument, when it is in fact supposed ot be your guitar. Perhpas more melodic content in your guitar part, and bring up it's volume as well. And concerning the piano, bring it's volume down when your guitar starts.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

Well, I'm not able to change it now, but I'll definitely keep that in mind for any tweaking I make should I decide to turn this into a full series or album.

Thanks!

Wonderful

I like the dark and energetic opening wiht the piano, and the French horns present a wonderful heroic melodic pose. Have you considered using Cubase for your orchestral vsts?

Cleverhill responds:

Hi! Yes, I have. I just bought an iMac, cubase and a huge midi-keyboard, so composing in FL Studio is close the end.
I guess it'll take some time to adjust, but I think as soon as I got the hang of it everything will be alot easier than now.
Thanks for your review!

Good Piano

I assumed you played this rubato? It's my favorite technique, not being limited to a iron steady tempo. Rules like tempos are meant to be only loosely followed during free piano improvisation. I love how you played according to feel rather than tempo.

:D

MrMusicalLion responds:

Howdy :) Yeah I play according to how I feel, when I improv everything I feel, think, experience, it all feeds back into the music, keeps it more alive that way and makes the listener feel a part of the music rather than just an observer, I find :)

Thanks for listening and the review :D Nice to hear someone who appreciates such a technique, you'd probably like Chopins Raindrop Prelude or perhaps his Op 10 n3 [youtube it, so worth it if you can find a decent recording]

^_^

Astounding!

I'm simply in awe. This is one of the best FL sequenced classical songs that I've heard ever on NG! Way to go man.

Cleverhill responds:

don't know what to say... My engliah isn't good enough to express how much I appreciate a comment like that!
Thank you! :)

Yay!

Well-done m8!

Mich responds:

Thanks!

This is awesome!

and here I was thinking that there wouldn't be any more of your songs for a while. I guess you've been busy outside of NG :D. But cheers, yer back!

:D
