I give you a 8 just for parodying HIM

I hate those guys. Good diss on them.

Sounds like a trip down exctasy lane...

Sounds like a trip down exctasy lane. But then again, that was a long time ago since i went to a rave...

Pretty good.

You need to balance out some of the synth. It's sorta loaded with more synth than needed in parts. Overall it's pretty good,

flashmac responds:

haha yeah, I kinda went crazy at some parts. Glad you liked it though

Respectful piano playing man!

Good piano skillz man. There is never anything wrong with letting everyone hear your work. Keep up the good job man.

Lol.
I just can't believe I did runescape music...
Tomorrow I have another free day.
I might do WoW if I don't get tired of music.

Fairly dissonant

Fairly dissonant, but you don't really have any distinguishible liefmotif. A battle theme would usually have a theme for each character involved. Try constructing some characters for the battle, then composing a different theme for each of them.

Devastus responds:

Very nice advice, thank you. However, with this song I was going for a feel where you have this big battleground that changes along with the music, and so does the situation.

Thank you for your review.

Good work M8!

2 months of work, but the vocals sounded slightly hot in some places. I know it's not my system, cause I have B&W speakers and a Marantz amp, and I use a Audigy2 with spdif output. Hmm, perhaps if I heard it in 320 kbps / 48000. I know ;) I'm an audiophreak. :P. This reminds me somewhat of "Jigga Jigga". Somewhat. Do you listen to Scooter much? Anyways, I gave it a 7 in originality because it reminded me of Jigga Jigga (Without Scooter-like vocals). The instruments are pretty much standard trance fare, so I gave diversity a 6. Clarity is 8 because I believe there may be an issue with the vocal track, (but at 128kbps, it's probably the mp3 format's fault), and effort I gave you a 9, cause you spent 2 months on it. Overall: ***8*** Good job!

Sounds like David Foster

Good peice of music. Here is my own opinion of the base guitar you had going. It should have been more in the background and less audible. The flute and piano duet sounded okay. But the harpsichord track was WAAAY too hot. DO you have equipment to watch your levels? Towards the end of the song, it turns into this David Foster-like pop composition (the Drums in the background made it sound like the 1988 Winter Olympics theme). Have you thought of using enviromental effects? Echo effects do help make synth instruments sound more realistic. Otherwise, AWESOME JOB man. Keep up the good work.

Excellent job.

The MIDI on the rest of the track just doesn't fit the Violin, which sounds the most realistic when compared to all the other instruments. Violin track was a little hot in some places, but otherwise, this is a great emotive piece.
